Hackers from Russia penetrate US stores and steal more than 5 million bank cards and sell them in the dark Web

Hackers from Russia penetrated several US stores, accessed customer data and hacked more than 5 million bank cards after an electronic attack on the electronic systems of Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and New Jersey.

According to an Internet security research firm that specializes in tracking stolen financial data. The company said the data appeared to have been stolen using a program that was implanted in the cash register systems in stores, and card numbers had been withdrawn until last month.
"We are already familiar with the issue of data security, which includes customer payment card data at Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Fifth V and Lord Taylor in North America," the company said in a statement. Once we are more clear about the facts, we will notify our clients quickly and we will provide free identity protection services affected, including credit and web monitoring.
Experts predict that those behind the attacks are a group of pirates from Russia calling itself "JokerStash", and has presented data of more than 125 thousand bank cards for sale in the dark Web.
The theft is one of the biggest cybercrime crimes known to retailers and illustrates how difficult it is to secure credit card transactions despite lessons learned from other major data breaches, including the theft of 56 million cards from Home Depot in 2014
