A gap in the "FaceTime" application that allows your caller to tap your camera and microphone

Apple said on Monday it plans to issue a software patch later this week that will fix a flaw discovered in its FaceTime messaging application on iPhone phones.

Because of the loophole, discovered on Monday by a Twitter user, any Facebook user can tap the other party's voice while making a video call, even before answering.

The gap is believed to be due to a problem with the VHS system as it starts recording the voice of the receiver of video calls, thinking that the conversation has started, although the user has not yet responded.

The group video call feature is new to TimeTime, announced by Apple in the summer of 2018 and removed from the first beta versions of iOS 12 for iPhone and iPad. The feature was then released to pan-users late last October.

"We are aware of this problem and have identified a reform that will be released in the software update later this week," Apple's spokesman said in a statement.

The gap does not only record the call receiver sound, but trying to mute the call by pressing the volume down button or the power button will turn the camera on, although the receiver's screen will continue to show the incoming call screen. But in fact the caller will see and hear the other party.

Until Apple releases its software patch, it is recommended to disable the "FaceTime" application by going to the phone settings and then "FaceTime".
