WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US researchers have recently reached an initial prototype for a battery-free mobile phone, using technology they hope will eventually be used for broadband
and telephone products made by a group of researchers at the University of Washington in Seattle and working by assembling small amounts of energy from wireless signals "RF waves
are all around us and the phone is an initial model. At first sight, it appears to be a bit more sophisticated than the circuit board with a few parts added, and the caller has to put the
earphones on and press," Famsi Tala told Reuters. But there are plans to develop more prototype models, including a low-resolution screen for text-writing and even an initial camera.
